The teaching laboratories of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (DSF) are used for all hands-on activities in the Department’s affiliated degree programs: Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology (single-cycle bachelor’s degree programs), Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences (bachelor’s degree program), which will be the new course in Herbal Science and Technology (bachelor’s degree program), and Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies (master’s degree program in English). Laboratory exercises, conducted by faculty from DSF and other departments, are a central element of the course offerings. All courses are strongly characterized by experimental activities in the laboratories of medicinal chemistry, nutraceuticals and pharmacology, supporting a solid and interdisciplinary preparation.
The staff is responsible for providing technical support to laboratory courses for their operation, ensuring the following precesses, functions, adn activities:
- Control and verification of the assets contained in the laboratories at the beginning and end of the academic year.
- Coordination with the Teaching Committee, the Teaching Service, and the responsible professors for organizing exercises regarding shifts, setups, periods, schedules, handouts, necessary tools and materials, based on purchase proposals requested by the professor responsible for the course.
- Support during exercises and assistance to students.
- Technical and application consulting on protocols for teaching exercises.
- Purchase proposals for goods necessary for the renewal and enhancement of laboratories.
- Routine and extraordinary maintenance of assigned instruments.
- Management of consumable material orders and their stock levels and inventories.
- Signing of testing reports for newly purchased goods and inventory discharge reports for goods no longer usable.
