The Department of Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences (DSF) has a wide range of advanced analytical instrumentation organized in Facilities dedicated to research, not only in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences, but also in related fields such as Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Synthesis and Characterization, Pharmaceutical Technology and Chemical-Physical Analysis. These are complex and highly innovative instrumentations that are often characterized by high acquisition, operation and maintenance costs, making them difficult for individual researchers to access directly. For this reason, the DSF has adopted a model of centralizing instrumental resources in shared facilities in order to optimize the use of equipment and ensure qualified technical and scientific support.
The Department’s Facilities offer:
- access to high-tech instrumentation;
- technical support for the proper use of equipment;
- assistance in designing and setting up experiments;
- in some cases, direct execution of analyses by specialized personnel.
The facilities are managed by dedicated, highly qualified and constantly updated technical staff in close collaboration with the Department’s research groups. This model makes it possible to offer an efficient and quality service to both internal researchers and external users.
For 2025, activities are coordinated by the Head of the Sector “Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Laboratories”, Dr. Alessia Forgiarini (researchfacilities.dsf@unipd.it).
